Pink Sapphire
Pink Sapphire is the colored stone in Corundum family, with maximum hardness inferior to diamond, resulting in resistance to scratch.
The colors of Pink Sapphire are from Very Pale Baby Pink, Vivid Pink, Almost Magenta, up to Intense Pink.
Pink color in Corundum is derived from chromium inclusions inside colored stone. If chromium content is excessive, it will result in red colored stone and it is called “Ruby”. If Chromium content is lower, it is called Pink Sapphire. In meantime, if titanium inclusions are mixed, violate shade is blended and it is called “Purplish Pink Sapphire”.
Meaning of Pink Sapphire

พลอยสีชมพู (Pink Sapphire)
เป็นพลอยตระกูลคอรันดัม ซึ่งเป็นพลอยที่มีความแข็งมากที่สุดรองจากเพชร ทำให้มีความทนทานต่อการขูดขีด
สีของพลอยชมพูมีตั้งแต่เฉดสี ซีดจาง (Very Pale Baby Pink), ชมพูสดใส (Vivid), ชมพูเกือบบานเย็น (Almost Magenta) ไปจนถึง ชมพูเข้ม (Intense Pink)
สีชมพูในพลอยคอรันดัม เกิดจากมลทินในพลอยที่เป็นธาตุโครเมี่ยม ซึ่งถ้ามีมากเกินไปจะเกิดเป็นพลอยสีแดง ซึ่งจะถูกเรียกว่าทับทิม (Ruby) ถ้ามีปริมาณโครเมี่ยมน้อยลง ก็จะถูกเรียกว่าพลอยสีชมพู (Pink Sapphire) ในขนะเดียวกันถ้ามีมลทิน ที่เป็นธาตุไทเทเนี่ยม ผสมอยู่ด้วย จะทำให้มีเฉดม่วงปน ซึ่ง จะถูกเรียกว่า Purplish Pink Sapphire
